The best sound machines disappear into the background, and the Aura manages that with tracks that don't loop noticeably. The fan sounds in particular are convincing rather than tinny.
A dim, adjustable night light is a nice bonus for a nursery or bedside table, and the controls are physical buttons you can find in the dark.
